Processing
In Neckenmarkt, the Fuchs family cultivates 22 hectares of vineyards. Only red wines are produced, tailored to the grape variety, soil, and region. The grapes are harvested at the highest possible and harmonious ripeness. To allow their natural potential to develop, they are vinified without excessive and strenuous cellar techniques. The only concession is the use of French oak barrels, which emphasize the regional character of our wines and add a dimension. The wines from Neckenmarkt are very strongly influenced by their microclimate.
Vineyards
On the slopes of the “Ödenburger Gebirge,” vines grow on steep terrains oriented southeast, south, southwest, and west, receiving optimal sunlight due to their very sheltered location and perfect orientation.
Quality
The result is perfectly ripe grapes with wonderfully fine, cool expressive fruit aromas. On the other hand, it is the special soils of Neckenmarkt, “the terroir,” that particularly shape the wines.
