The vineyards of the Winery Schmelzer are situated in Gols, the largest wine-village of Austria. The estate´s area covers 12ha, of which 70% are redwine-varieties. During recent years, the brothers Horst and Georg Schmelzer have developed into Zweigelt specialists. Their main aim is to produce fine wines with a regional touch.

The work up to the vinification process is shared and shared alike , as far as Horst takes care of the vineyard-management and Georg is responsible for the marketing. Cellar-masters are both of them, therefore both work on the vinification.
