In the heart of the Mittelburgenland, on the gentle southeastern slopes of the Ödenburger Mountains, lies the family-run winery Maria and Johann Hofstädter. Here, on around 3 hectares of vineyard, authentic wines with a clear sense of origin are created – characterized by experience, care, and a deep understanding of nature and vine.
The focus is on robust, structured red wines – particularly Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The range is complemented by fruit-forward white wines such as Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, and Welschriesling. The combination of conscious yield reduction, selective harvesting, and modern cellar techniques enables wines with expression, purity, and aging potential. Some of the wines mature in classic barrique casks, gaining additional depth and elegance. Numerous awards – including those from Falstaff and the Vinum Red Wine Cup – confirm the high quality standards.
In the lovingly designed tasting room, visitors can experience the diversity of the range personally. The idyllic location of the estate also makes it a special place for excursions or private celebrations amidst the wine landscape of Deutschkreutz.
