Kobersdorf Castle Games

After centuries of sleeping beauty slumber, Kobersdorf Castle has been brought back to life and is now the scene of vibrant cultural events. The main performance venue is the romantic arcade courtyard. Since 1972, this has provided an atmospheric setting for theater performances. The artistic director of the castle games is Wolfgang Böck.

PROGRAM 2025 - Stories from the Vienna Woods by Ödön von Horváth
The Castle Games Kobersdorf will show Ödön von Horváth's folk play Stories from the Vienna Woods this summer. Behind the apparent waltz idyll unfolds a tragic drama about the young Marianne, who wants to break free from an unhappy engagement – in vain. The production is directed by Michael Gampe, with Wolfgang Böck appearing on stage as the king of magic. Horváth's work impressively showcases the dark sides of petty-bourgeois life and remains highly relevant today.
